The Holy Bible has been the #1 bestseller, well, ever since they have been printing books.
Some people may wonder why this book is on a “recommended reading list” for books discussing business, investing, retirement and other related topics.
Well, have you ever considered any of the following issues?
- Why “saving for a rainy” is such a good idea? Check-out what Joseph did to prepare for the 7 years of famine in the book of Genesis.
- Has your employer ever “transferred” you from your home town to another place far away? The Genesis story of Joseph describes something like that.
- Have you ever been wrongly accused of sexual harassment? That would be what Potiphar’s wife said about Joseph in Genesis.
- Has your hard work gone unnoticed and forgotten? Check-out how the Royal Butler mistreated Joseph. Again, in Genesis.
- Having trouble with the family in the family business? Yup, Joe and again Genesis.
All of this is just about one guy in the very first book! The Holy Bible has lots of other helpful tidbits scattered throughout on such diverse topics as:
- The do’s and don’ts of lending and borrowing.
- Customer service.
- Employer/employee relations.
- How to manage litigation.
So, there you have it.

King James Version (KJV) or Authorized Version (AV)
For many English readers, the King James Version (KJV) is considered THE Bible. Its poetic cadence and use of the Old English “thee’s” and “thou’s” give it a distinct flair. This translation was completed in 1611 as authorized by King James VI of of Scotland and I of England.
The Old Testament portion was translated from Hebrew and the New Testament portion was translated from the Greek. The original scholars used a literal or “word-for-word” methodology. While technically considered more accurate, this methodology may decrease the overall readability for many users.
For over 400 years, the King James Version has been considered the de facto standard for English-speakers the world over.
The One Year Bible (King James Version) is also available in a Kindle Edition.
